Our Projects

Park County Convict Grade Road Bridge

Overview

Design and construction of a single span prestressed concrete beam bridge founded on driven steel piles and concrete abutments. Work performed by Stahly included survey, design, bidding, and construction administration. Stahly also assisted with a TSEP Emergency Grant to help defray the cost of the project.

Project Size

28,000

Project Value

$313.9K

Year Completed

2019

Details

The existing bridge was closed in October 2018 after an underwater inspection performed by MDT found a significant scour hole beneath the center pier. Stahly assisted the County with the installation of a detour bridge to be used for local traffic during design and construction of the new bridge. Due to early high water, the detour bridge had to be removed at the end of March, and the contractor had to proceed without a work bridge. Also, due to inclement weather, the contractor was awarded 27 weather days, which delayed the project significantly. Pipe piles on the end bents were prebored due to hard material.
