Judith Basin County North Hobson Bridge

Overview

Stahly Engineering assisted Judith Basin County in securing TSEP funds for the replacement of the North Hobson Bridge. The existing steel truss was replaced with a single span prestressed concrete beam structure.

During preliminary design coordination, the Judith Basin County commissioners and road supervisor expressed their preference to install a concrete structure, but also wanted to keep a gravel road surface across the new bridge deck to facilitate local ranchers in moving livestock. The final design utilized concrete Bulb-Tee beams, with an increased load capacity and curb height to accommodate the placement of 4” of gravel overtop the concrete beams.
