Town of West Yellowstone GIS

Overview

Stahly Engineering developed a master database, along with a working map for the Town of West Yellowstone. Each point or line in the map included attribute fields such as material, maintenance records, coordinates, and photos. The features and associated attributes were customized to fit West Yellowstone and included anything that was helpful for both field and office staff.

Details

The map is accessible from the field using a tablet or smartphone to increase the efficiency of staff. The data was gathered from a combination of field collection and existing data from recent projects that were completed within the town, along with any information previously documented by the West Yellowstone Public Works Department. Stahly compiled all available infrastructure data into a single database using ArcGIS desktop software and transferred it to ArcGIS Online to be maintained and accessed by West Yellowstone staff using ESRI’s Collector application, with Stahly staff assisting on an as-needed basis.
