Brian Kray, PLS

Brian Kray, PLS, is an experienced Land Survey Project Manager in our Bozeman office and the Technical Lead for the survey department at Stahly Engineering & Associates. With over 20 years in the land surveying profession, Brian brings a depth of knowledge and precision that strengthens every project he leads. He is known for his technical accuracy, problem-solving abilities, and comprehensive understanding of drafting and construction methods.

Brian’s extensive field and office experience includes the use of traditional and cutting-edge survey technologies. He has successfully performed a broad range of surveys, including boundary retracement and subdivision exemptions, topographic, ALTA, As built, and flood insurance projects, leveraging his skill in field evidence recovery to support client due diligence, flood response efforts, and design.

Among his recent accomplishments is the completion of a large-scale right-of-way retracement survey for the Montana Department of Transportation in Fort Benton, MT and ongoing management of a multi-county retracement survey for a land exchange with the USFS.  Beyond project delivery, Brian is a dedicated mentor of staff focused on developing the next generation of survey professionals.  He is recognized within the firm for his commitment to mentorship, technical training, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
