Capitol Tribal Flag Plaza

Overview

Stahly Engineering completed survey and site civil design for the new Capitol Tribal Flag Plaza. The Stahly team collaborated extensively with A&E Design to present several different options for this highly visible project. Design elements to consider included ADA ramps, flags, railings, planners, and more. This process required creativity and communication among all members. The project required continuous inspections because of the complexity of retaining walls, soils, and compaction.

A topographic survey of approximately 150 feet by 150 feet between the Thomas Francis Meagher statue and the north side of the State Capitol Building was conducted. Professional services included the design and development of a plans package for the addition of a flag plaza, including a colored concrete grid and (10) 30-foot aluminum flag poles.
